Introduction
Jobhub is a platform dedicated to vocational and career development, designed to assist LSBU students in finding jobs that complement their studies. Simultaneously, it aims to enhance the university's access to adequate vocational resources, information, and events.
Problem
The challenge was to improve communication and collaboration among various career departments within LSBU. Students struggled to keep track of all the career-related departments, missing valuable resources and diminishing their job prospects.
Similarly, departments needed more transparent insights into each other's offerings, hindering effective collaboration.
Outcome
To address these challenges, Jobhub was born. Through research and stakeholder engagement, we identified the need for a centralised platform that:
Aggregates job opportunities and career resources: Jobhub compiles and presents all relevant information from various departments, including internships, events, workshops, and career guidance materials.
Improves discoverability: A user-friendly interface allows students to easily search and filter resources based on their interests, skills, and academic background.
Enhances communication and collaboration: Jobhub fosters interaction between departments, enabling them to share resources, co-organise events, and streamline internal processes.

Insights
Initial testing with low-fidelity wireframes received positive feedback, indicating that the app reduced the need for physical department visits. However, insights revealed the desire for a more interactive app, allowing students to provide feedback and improve their interaction with departments.
Next Steps:
The development plan includes creating the Jobhub interface for the Android system
Designing the Jobhub Staff Dashboard
Introducing a 'Review' feature for enhanced user-department interaction.
This iterative process aims to continually align the platform with user needs and improve the overall vocational support experience.
Process
We initiated the project by engaging stakeholders through interviews and workshops to uncover needs and pain points.
With a comprehensive understanding, we brainstormed ideas, progressing to low-fidelity wireframes and high-fidelity mockups. Each step brought us closer to a solution aligned with user and stakeholder needs.
Persona

Robyn
Driven first-year Robyn juggles academics and part-time work, passionately seeking guidance and opportunities to excel in her chosen field. Balancing her thirst for knowledge with an ambitious career roadmap, she actively seeks workshops, internships, and relevant resources to fuel her academic and professional growth.
Goals
Robyn aims to ace her studies, prepare for her dream career, deepen her knowledge, build connections, and land an internship or new job all while conquering first year.
Frustrations
Lost in a labyrinth of university resources, Robyn wonders if she's following the right career path amid the overwhelming maze of departments and events.
User Research
Research revealed that students needed help navigating the numerous career-related departments at LSBU, resulting in missed opportunities.
The lack of communication between departments led to scheduling conflicts and poor event attendance. To address these issues, we defined our persona and conducted extensive research, identifying the need for a unified platform.
Brainstorming
Various ideas were considered, including a career event week and departmental relocation. However, by combining a mobile app and a dashboard, a digital solution emerged as the most feasible and beneficial.
The app would provide job notifications, event updates, and content from university departments. The dashboard would streamline departmental schedules and content.
